What does “without shaving” mean?
In a classic hair transplant the donor and recipient areas are shaved short. With Long DHI the existing hair in the recipient area stays long. The extracted grafts are placed at their full length between the existing hair with the Choi Pen. In the donor area at the back of the head only a narrow strip is shaved, hidden by the hair above it.
The advantages
- Inconspicuous straight away: the new hair hardly stands out between your own.
- Often back to everyday life after two to three days.
- The hairline and result can be judged better right after the procedure.
- Ideal for people with customer contact or in the public eye.
Who is Long DHI suitable for?
For large bald areas a classic DHI or FUE is usually the better choice, because there is no hair to cover and more grafts are possible in one session.
- Early to moderate hair loss with hair still present in the recipient area.
- Densifying thinning areas and correcting the hairline.
- When up to about 3,000 grafts are needed.

Why Long DHI takes more work
Each graft is loaded individually with its long hair and placed so that it lies in the growth direction of the existing hair. That takes time, precision and a well-practised team. That is why the procedure takes a little longer than a classic DHI and is the most demanding variant.
