Why a hair transplant in Turkey costs less
In Germany, Austria and Switzerland a hair transplant is usually charged per graft. Prices are often around 2 to 5 euros per graft – for 3,000 grafts that quickly adds up to 6,000 to 15,000 euros, and often more in Switzerland.
In Istanbul staff, rent and clinic costs are much lower, and the large clinics work with well-practised teams and high case numbers. That is why they usually offer all-inclusive packages at a fixed price, with hotel and transfers already included. Reputable packages are often in the range of about 2,000 to 5,000 euros, depending on method, scope and services.
What the price depends on
- Method: DHI with the Choi Pen takes more work than FUE; Long DHI without shaving is the most demanding variant.
- Number of grafts: 4,000 grafts take longer than 1,500. Many packages are still a fixed price, regardless of the exact number.
- Anaesthesia: sedation (e.g. Sleep Deep) for a more relaxed procedure is not included everywhere.
- Services on site: hotel category, number of nights, VIP transfers, a coordinator who speaks your language.
- Aftercare: medication, care kit, PRP treatment and follow-up over twelve months.
What a reputable package should include
Always compare offers by the whole package, not just the number on the price tag. At Mese Medical the fixed price includes:

Costs that are often forgotten
- Return flight to Istanbul – direct from many cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
- One or two days off: arriving on Friday and flying back on Sunday, one day off is often enough.
- A soft hat or cap for the first days afterwards.
- With offers that are too cheap: surcharges for sedation, medication, PRP or extra grafts that are only mentioned on site.
How to spot an offer that is too cheap
A price far below the usual range is not a bargain but a warning sign. Often there is no permanent head surgeon but changing assistants, or too many patients are treated on the same day. So always ask: who plans my hairline? Who places the grafts? How many patients are treated on my day? What exactly is included in the price?
