What hair loss in women looks like
In women the hair usually thins diffusely on top of the head, often along the parting, while the hairline at the forehead remains. Common causes are hereditary hair loss, hormonal changes such as after pregnancy or during menopause, iron or thyroid deficiency, stress and hairstyles that are too tight over many years.
First clarify the cause
Because the causes vary so much, it starts with a careful analysis: trichoscopy, blood values and your history. If hair loss is hormonal or triggered by a deficiency, targeted treatment with PRP, mesotherapy and accompanying medication often helps more than a transplant.
When a hair transplant makes sense
- With a high forehead or a hairline that has receded.
- With thinning spots caused by scars, for example after an accident or a facelift.
- With hair loss from years of tight hairstyles (traction alopecia).
- With thin eyebrows.
- With hereditary hair loss and a stable, dense donor area.
Possible without shaving
Many women do not want to cut their hair. With Long DHI the existing hair in the recipient area is not shaved, and at the back of the head only a narrow strip is taken, hidden by the hair above it. So the procedure is inconspicuous after just a few days.
Our recommendation
Send us photos from the front, from above with your parting and of the back of your head. Our head surgeon tells you honestly whether a transplant, hair loss treatment or a combination makes most sense for you.
