Why the clinic matters more than the price
A hair transplant is a procedure for many years. Transplanted hair grows permanently – a good result just as much as an unnatural hairline. The donor area at the back of the head is also limited: what has been extracted once is not available again. That is why it pays to check an offer carefully instead of looking only at the price.
The 10 criteria
- A permanent head surgeon plans your hairlineAsk who draws your hairline and leads the procedure. A reputable clinic names a responsible person, not just “our team”.
- A limited number of patients per dayThe more patients are treated at the same time, the less time is left for you. Ask specifically.
- Individual analysis in advanceA reputable provider wants to see photos before naming method and graft count – and honestly tells you if a transplant does not make sense (yet).
- Fixed price with a clear list of servicesEverything included is in the written offer: method, anaesthesia, hotel, transfers, medication, aftercare.
- Pre-procedure check-upA blood test, an ECG and an analysis of hair and scalp (trichoscopy) belong before every procedure.
- Hygiene and equipmentClean, modern treatment rooms and a sterile process are a matter of course. Ask to be shown the clinic by video.
- Support in your languageA coordinator who speaks your language accompanies you from the airport to departure – and is reachable afterwards.
- Realistic promisesNobody can guarantee a certain density. Be careful with “100% growth rate” or “result in three months”.
- Aftercare over twelve monthsThe result only shows after about a year. A good clinic accompanies you the whole time via photo and video.
- Transparent communicationYour questions are answered quickly, clearly and without sales pressure – critical ones too.
Questions to ask before booking
- Who plans my hairline, and who places the grafts?
- How many patients are treated on my day?
- Which method do you recommend for me and why?
- How many grafts are realistic, and how much reserve remains in the donor area?
- What exactly is included in the price – and what is not?
- How does aftercare work after I return home?
Typical warning signs
- A price far below the usual range.
- A fixed graft count without photos or analysis.
- Pressure: “Only today at this price.”
- No clear answer as to who performs the procedure.
- Extra costs that are only mentioned on site.
- Guarantees for density or growth rate.
