PRP hair treatment for patients from Austria

For PRP a small amount of your blood is centrifuged. For patients from Austria we organise the whole stay in Istanbul – from photo analysis to aftercare at home.

PRP treatment: the prepared plasma is injected into the scalp

Many patients from Austria combine PRP treatment with a short stay in Istanbul. Flight time from Vienna, Graz and Linz is between 2 h 5 min and 2 h 20 min.

The ÖGK and private insurers in Austria usually do not cover such treatments. So you pay yourself – and with us a fixed price that already includes hotel, transfers, support and aftercare.

How a session works

Blood is drawn from a vein in the arm, much like at your GP. In the centrifuge, red blood cells and plasma separate after about ten minutes. The upper, platelet-rich part is drawn up and injected in small amounts into the affected scalp areas. A session takes around 45 minutes in total.

Questions about this treatment

Is PRP painful?

You feel the injections briefly. With cooling or local anaesthesia most patients find the session easy to tolerate.

How many sessions do I need?

Usually three to four, four to six weeks apart, then a top-up every six to twelve months.

Can I combine PRP with a hair transplant?

Yes, that is very common. The first session often happens on the day of the procedure or at the next-day check-up.

Does the ÖGK cover a hair transplant?

Usually not, as it counts as a cosmetic procedure. Exceptions are rare and concern hair loss after accidents, for example.
